Reddit was also a big contributor, as it generated 15.23 percent of the total social media traffic to walmart.com.

    Animal Crossing, toiler paper, and disinfecting products were on the top of the minds of Walmart customers during the coronavirus pandemic in March 2020. Due to shelter at home directives and regional lockdowns in March 2020, Walmart's product page for "Nintendo switch console animal crossing new horizons edition" generated 945,000 visits. Released in late March 2020, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has become one of the most visible products of the lockdown as users relish the escapism and creativity of the social simulation game during the crisis and frequently post content about the game on social media. Overall, global video game and console sales have increased significantly as people turned to home entertainment during periods of self-isolation.
