    Description

This resource is a member of a series. The TIGER/Line shapefiles and related database files (.dbf) are an extract of selected geographic and cartographic information from the U.S. Census Bureau's Master Address File / Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (MAF/TIGER) System (MTS). The MTS represents a seamless national file with no overlaps or gaps between parts, however, each TIGER/Line shapefile is designed to stand alone as an independent data set, or they can be combined to cover the entire nation. The All Roads shapefile includes all features within the MTS Super Class "Road/Path Features" distinguished where the MAF/TIGER Feature Classification Code (MTFCC) for the feature in the MTS that begins with "S". This includes all primary, secondary, local neighborhood, and rural roads, city streets, vehicular trails (4wd), ramps, service drives, alleys, parking lot roads, private roads for service vehicles (logging, oil fields, ranches, etc.), bike paths or trails, bridle/horse paths, walkways/pedestrian trails, and stairways.

The AADT utilizes average daily traffic totals collected from by all 10 districts. Data is collected in the field by each district from Permanent, Short-term, Special, and CCS traffic counters. This data is then sent to Traffic Analysis Section for further analysis and the creation of feature class. Data includes Station ID, County, Route number, Road name Functional Class, LRS Section, MP, City, AADT collection years, Number of trucks, Program, and AADT daily Traffic count. Description

The general rule for route dominancy is: among all concurrent routes, the route with the lowest sign system code dominates. If more than one route shares the same lowest sign system code the one with the smallest route number dominates. Measures embedded in routes are derived by linear interpolation based on calibration point data collected by using a Distance Measuring Instrument (DMI) except for ramps which use the geometry length to derive measures. Collection of all Interstates designated Sign System 1 in the Linear Referencing System as extracted from the Dominant Routes Layer in West Virginia. Current feature information included in this layer is the ROUTEID, Label, Sub Route, Sign System, Supplemental Code, Route Number, County Code, District, Beginning Mile Point, Ending Mile Points, Comments, Year Recorded and State Code. Data is in NAD_1983_UTM_Zone_17N coordinate system. Data is updated semi-annually.

    Description

This feature layer describes surface water samples taken along the Parsons to Davis portion of the Corridor H route in Tucker County, WV, as part of the Citizen Science Trout Unlimited WV-VA Water Quality Monitoring Project. Purpose:This data describes water quality data collected as part of a Citizen Science project organized by Trout Unlimited and local volunteers in West Virginia and Virginia. The purpose of this monitoring effort is to evaluate ambient water quality and evaluate impacts to aquatic ecosystems from nearby construction of Corridor H, a highway project traversing mountainous terrain in West Virginia.Source & Date:Data was received from West Virginia Rivers Coalition (an organizing partner of the effort) on 5/28/2024. Links to individual data records, hosted on the project's Citizen Science page, can be accessed by clicking the monitoring site points in the map.Processing:Data was received in Excel tablular format. Fields were re-ordered and the table was converted to Comma Separated Values (CSV) format. A copy was made and only station-related fields were kept. The CSV tables were imported into a file geodatabase. The Stations were converted to a point feature class using Lat/Long coordinates. A relationship class was created between the two tables based on the CitSci Site Name field. The original Stations CSV file was deleted and the file geodatabase published to ArcGIS Online as a feature service. Popups utilizing the related records were set up in Map Viewer.Symbology:Monitoring Stations: medium blue points
