Preliminary MDT Orthophotography collected by the Montana Department of Transportation in response to Montana Spring 2022 flooding on the Yellowstone River and tributaries. The imagery resolution is approximately 1 foot and was collected June 16, 2022.This imagery is PRELIMINARY and is currently under review. The imagery has known spatial alignment issues and additional control needs to be introduced to improve the georeferencing. Horizontal alignment is off by approximately 5 to 50 feet. Some areas are off by as much as 100 feet.This imagery should be used for visual purposes only. A combined 50-cm mosaic was created from WorldView-2 (50-cm) and WorldView-3 (30-cm) satellite imagery by LandInfo Worldwide Mapping, LLC to represent post-flood conditions. The imagery were orthorectified and delivered as a single 50-cm mosaic image. The mosaic was visually assessed for spatial accuracy using 2021 NAIP imagery. The positional accuracy of WorldView is approximately 5 meters, though accuracy has not been assessed for the provided collection.
