This feature class contains polygons defining the USPS ZIP Codes in Hillsborough County, Florida. The dataset includes a five-digit code and name of each ZIP code. The purpose of this dataset is to represent location and describe the boundaries of all ZIP codes within Hillsborough County.USPS ZIP code layer were originally built using the street centerline, Situs or property lines.Hillsborough County obtains the information about approximate ZIP codes boundaries in the form of legal descriptions or general maps outlining the areas from USPS and feature polygons are drawn using ArcMap to update the existing boundaries. Any ZIP code that did not have geographic areas but have only post office box was represented by a small square. The boundaries are updated as needed basis when errors are found or when unpopulated areas have growth. The polygon boundaries are approximate since the ZIP codes are assigned to linear features (Roads), not to geographic areas.
The TIGER/Line shapefiles and related database files (.dbf) are an extract of selected geographic and cartographic information from the U.S. Census Bureau's Master Address File / Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (MAF/TIGER) Database (MTDB). The MTDB represents a seamless national file with no overlaps or gaps between parts, however, each TIGER/Line shapefile is designed to stand alone as an independent data set, or they can be combined to cover the entire nation. ZIP Code Tabulation Areas (ZCTAs) are approximate area representations of U.S. Postal Service (USPS) ZIP Code service areas that the Census Bureau creates to present statistical data for each decennial census. The Census Bureau delineates ZCTA boundaries for the United States, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and the U.S. Virgin Islands once each decade following the decennial census. Data users should not use ZCTAs to identify the official USPS ZIP Code for mail delivery. The USPS makes periodic changes to ZIP Codes to support more efficient mail delivery. The Census Bureau uses tabulation blocks as the basis for defining each ZCTA. Tabulation blocks are assigned to a ZCTA based on the most frequently occurring ZIP Code for the addresses contained within that block. The most frequently occurring ZIP Code also becomes the five-digit numeric code of the ZCTA. These codes may contain leading zeros. Blocks that do not contain addresses but are surrounded by a single ZCTA (enclaves) are assigned to the surrounding ZCTA. Because the Census Bureau only uses the most frequently occurring ZIP Code to assign blocks, a ZCTA may not exist for every USPS ZIP Code. Some ZIP Codes may not have a matching ZCTA because too few addresses were associated with the specific ZIP Code or the ZIP Code was not the most frequently occurring ZIP Code within any of the blocks where it exists. The ZCTA boundaries in this release are those delineated following the 2020 Census.

This feature class contains polygons of the zip code boundaries within Manatee County.
This layer represents ZIP Code outlines for the state of North Carolina. The counties are stored as polygons.
A ZIP Code is a five digit numeric code that identifies a collection of mailing addresses within the United States and its territories to simplify the distribution of mail by the United States Postal Service (USPS).
A ZIP Code is a delivery sort sequence and the USPS does not associate an area with each ZIP Code. Said another way, ZIP Codes are lists of addresses for delivering the mail. They are not areas. However, many ZIP Codes have delivery areas, and some ZIP Codes are for buildings or campuses that have defined borders. Boundaries can also be created by grouping small areas (defined by the U.S. Bureau of the Census for their nationwide street map) based on the dominant ZIP Code of the addresses in each small area, but this is an approximation because carrier routes may overlap and portions of the country have no deliverable addresses. The ZIP Code areas often do not adhere to boundaries of cities, towns, counties, or states.

The features in this layer represent the five-digit ZIP Code areas that are used by the U.S. Postal Service to deliver mail more effectively. This layer provides ZIP Code, postal district name, population, and area for the ZIP Code areas in California.
The H-GAC ZIP code coverage includes polygons and their attributes for Harris County. It was primarily created from the census 2002 ZIP code boundary data with secondary source data coming from Centerpoint ZIP code, Esri 2009 ZIP code, address point data from centerpoint and counties, CRIS ( Carrier Route Information System) data, US Postal Services Online site ( Look up a ZIP code) and parcels. Must Not Overlap and Must Not have Gaps topology rules have been used in order to create an accurate ZIP code layer. The layer represents physical ZIP codes and a few PO BOX ZIP codes are included rural areas . PO BOX ZIP codes can be identifying by "zip_type" field in the attribute table.
This layer was modified from ESRI's zip code layer for Anne Arundel County's CAD system. The modifications include extending the boudary to include centerlines and address points beyond the typical boundary (piers & bridges). In addition, the PO_NAME field is populated with the CAD city code name rather than the true USPS name (ex. Annapolis, rather than Eastport). Other modifications and corrections have occured based on information from the USPS website (http://zip4.usps.com/zip4/welcome.jsp). U.S. ZIP Code Areas (Five-Digit) represents five-digit ZIP Code areas used by the U.S. Postal Service to deliver mail more effectively. The first digit of a five-digit ZIP Code divides the United States into 10 large groups of states numbered from 0 in the Northeast to 9 in the far West. Within these areas, each state is divided into an average of 10 smaller geographical areas, identified by the second and third digits. These digits, in conjunction with the first digit, represent a sectional center facility or a mail processing facility area. The fourth and fifth digits identify a post office, station, branch or local delivery area. Item Updated: 11-14-2019 12:57 PM
California - Census ZIP Code Tabulation Areas (ZCTA)This data is a subset of the National ZCTA data from the US Census Bureau. This layer was created by using the Select by Layer tool in ArcGIS Pro. First, the polygon for the California was selected from the United State County Borders, then the features from the ZCTA layer within the CA polygon were selected to create a new California only ZCTA layer.Census ZIP Code Tabulation AreasThis feature layer, utilizing National Geospatial Data Asset (NGDA) data from the U.S. Census Bureau, displays ZIP Code Tabulation Areas. US Postal Service ZIP Code boundaries. This layer was created by Los Angeles County eGIS to align with parcel boundaries.ZIP is an acronym for Zone Improvement Plan.Legal vs. Postal Cities: Many users confuse the name the Post Office delivers mail to (e.g. Van Nuys, Hollywood) as a legal city (in this case Los Angeles), when they are a postal city. The County contains 88 legal cities, and over 400 postal names that are tied to the ZIP Codes. To support usability and geocoding, we have attached the first 3 postal cities to each address, based upon its ZIP Code. The US Postal Service is the authoritative source for ZIP Code data. See their website for more information.
This layer shows population broken down by race and Hispanic origin. Data is from US Census American Community Survey (ACS) 5-year estimates. To see the full list of attributes available in this service, go to the "Data" tab, and choose "Fields" at the top right (in ArcGIS Online). A ‘Null’ entry in the estimate indicates that data for this geographic area cannot be displayed because the number of sample cases is too small (per the U.S. Census).Vintage: 2016-2020ACS Table(s): B03002 (Not all lines of this ACS table are available in this feature layer.)Data downloaded from: Census Bureau's API for American Community Survey Data Preparation: Data table downloaded and joined with Zip Code boundaries in the City of Tempe.Date of Census update: March 17, 2022National Figures: data.census.gov
As part of the basemap data layers, the ZIP code boundary map layer is an integral part of the Lexington Fayette-Urban County Government Geographic Information System. Basemap data layers are accessed by personnel in most LFUCG divisions for basic applications such as viewing, querying, and map output production. More advanced user applications may focus on thematic mapping, summarization of data by geography, or planning purposes (including defining boundaries, managing assets and facilities, integrating attribute databases with geographic features, spatial analysis, and presentation output).
