City Council enacted the new Kingston Zoning Bylaw Number 2022-62 on April 26, 2022. The Kingston Zoning Bylaw regulates the use of lands and the size and location of buildings for almost all properties in the City of Kingston (all properties except those identified as “Not Subject to this By-law”). Using Deep learning Objects, the images were re-classified into useful consistent colours. Deep Learning Objects and Training The resulting mosaic was then prepared for reclassification using the Label Objects for Deep Learning tool in ArcGIS Pro. A training sample, "LandUseTrainingSamples20211220", was created in the geodatabase for all land use types as follows: Neighbourhoods Insitutional Natural Areas Core Employment Areas Mixed Use Areas Apartment Neighbourhoods Parks Roads Utility Corridors Other Open Spaces General Employment Areas Regeneration Areas Lettering (not a land use type, but an image colour (black), used to label streets). By identifying the letters, it then made the reclassification and vectorization results easier to clean up of unnecessary clutter caused by the labels of streets. This is a georeferenced raster image of a printed paper map of the Gogama, Ontario region (Sheet No. 041P12), published in 1967. It is the first edition in a series of maps, which show both natural and man-made features such as relief, spot heights, administrative boundaries, secondary and side roads, railways, trails, wooded areas, waterways including lakes, rivers, streams and rapids, bridges, buildings, mills, power lines, terrain, and land formations. This map was published in 1967 and the information on the map is current as of 1961. Maps were produced by Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) and it's preceding agencies, in partnership with other government agencies. Please note: image / survey capture dates can span several years, and some details may have been updated later than others. Please consult individual map sheets for detailed production information, which can be found in the bottom left hand corner. Original maps were digitally scanned by McGill Libraries in partnership with Canadiana.org, and georeferencing for the maps was provided by the University of Toronto Libraries and Eastview Corporation.

The land cover classes consist of vegetation types (such as forest, wetlands and agricultural crops or pasture) and categories of non-vegetated surface (such as water bodies, bedrock outcrops or settlements).
These classes reflect the nature of the land surface rather than actual or potential land use. The 2000 Edition of the Ontario Land Cover Data Base is the Second Edition of this provincial land cover classification. The coverage is derived wholly from Landsat-7 Thematic Mapper (TM) satellite data frames recorded between 1999 and 2002, most from 2000 onward.
The Provincial Land Cover (2000) Data Base is divided into 4 individual Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) grid zone tiles (15, 16, 17, and 18) and is distributed in TIFF format. Documentation is provided with this database in the form of a user's guide and general use caveats.

Far North Land Cover v1.4 Southern Ontario Land Resource Information System (SOLRIS) v1.2 the Provincial Land Cover 2000 Edition
While each of these source products has differing pixel resolutions, projections and classifications, the resulting OLCC database is a standardized product with a:
pixel resolution of 15 metres coordinate system of Ontario Lambert Conformal Conic class structure of 29 land cover classes.
The standardized classification has been accomplished at the expense of the more detailed class structures in the source land cover products. Where possible, the original land cover products should be used for analysis.
This is an update to OLCC v1.0. In this version the Far North Land Cover component has been updated and extends further south into the Area of Undertaking (AOU) and into Manitoba than the previous version.Now also available through a web service which exposes the data for visualization and geoprocessing.The service is best accessed through the ArcGIS REST API, either directly or by setting up an ArcGIS server connection using the REST endpoint URL. Under the Ontario Planning Act, the Greater Toronto Airport Authority is a commenting agency regarding land use developments in the vicinity of the L.B.P.I.A.; G.T.A.A.’s Land Use Planning section reviews all development proposals within the surrounding municipalities to ensure their compliance with airport height restrictions, aircraft noise and bird hazard zone policies and guidelines. Any developments must be reviewed as part of a municipal site plan review process, or, prior to starting any construction activities for those developments that are not subject to municipal site plan approval.
This dataset represents the digitized version of the Canada Land Inventory Land Use (circa 1966) 1:50,000 scale mapping for Southern Ontario. The land use classification is based on air photo interpretation, field surveys, and census information and is divided by NTS map base. Most of the classifications are 'use' classes however, some vegetative cover classes are included (productive woodland, unproductive woodland, swamps-marsh-or-bog, and unproductive land). Classifications have been standardized across the coverage.
