    Description

    This layer summarizes racial and ethnic diversity in the United States. The Diversity Index shows the likelihood that two persons chosen at random from the same area, belong to different race or ethnic groups. The index ranges from 0 (no diversity) to 100 (complete diversity).The data shown is from Esri's 2020 Updated Demographic estimates using Census 2010 geographies. The map adds increasing level of detail as you zoom in, from state, to county, to ZIP Code, to tract, to block group data. Esri's U.S. Updated Demographic (2020/2025) Data: Population, age, income, sex, race, home value, and marital status are among the variables included in the database.     This map shows the median age of the Puerto Rico population in 2010 in a multiscale map by country, county, ZIP Code, tract, and block group. According to the US Census, the median age in 2010 was 37 years of age.

    The pop-up is configured to include the following information for each geography level:
    • Median age of total population
    • Total population counts (by 5 year increments)
    • Median age of male population
    • Male population counts (by 5 year increments)
    • Median age of female population
    • Female population counts (by 5 year increments)
    The data shown is from the 2010 US Census and Census 2010 geographies. The map adds increasing level of detail as you zoom in, from country, to county, to ZIP Code, to tract, to block group data.

    The Diversity Index shows the likelihood that two persons chosen at random from the same area, belong to different race or ethnic groups. The index ranges from 0 (no diversity) to 100 (complete diversity). Diversity in the U.S. population is increasing. The diversity score for the entire United States in 2012 is 61.

    This dataset is based on the data provided by the Central Bureau voor de Statistiek on different statistical metrics at the postcode level.Only the 4-digit postcodes (PC4) are available, the 5-digit and 6-digit are not freely available from the Dutch authorities.Enhancements- add administrative hierarchy: Gemeenten and Provincie.
